Eighth-place finish in Fall Classic prelim at Whynot Motorsports Park
Fresh off his Rookie of the Year run with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series, Trey Mills traveled to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Miss.) on Friday afternoon for the 29th-annual Coors Light Fall Classic.
With a pair of preliminary features slated for Friday evening, Trey stopped the clock third-fastest before finishing runner-up in his heat. In the $3,000-to-win prelim, Mills ran as high as fourth but faded late to finish eighth after 30 laps.
For Saturday's $15,000-to-win finale, Mills was relegated to a B-Main after a fifth-place finish in his heat where he would transfer to the main event. Rolling off 21st in the 60-lap main event, Trey had made up four positions when an major accident developed in front of him and he had nowhere to go. Mills was scored with a DNF finish in 23rd.
