Mills follows HTF to Georgia; Top-5 outing at Magnolia with Comp Cams
With a busy holiday weekend of racing ahead of him, Trey Mills began his Labor Day weekend at Lavonia (Ga.) Speedway on Friday afternoon for the first of two nights with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series.
Following a fourth-place finish in his heat race, Mills started the 50-lap feature from the sixth-row and recorded a 14th-place finish.
With the field elevated to 26 Late Models at Rome (Ga.) Speedway on Saturday, Trey completed all 50-laps in the $15,000-to-win Rome Boss and gained eight positions to land a 12th-place finish.
Not satisfied with Friday's and Saturday's results, Trey and his team decided to stop in at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) on Sunday afternoon to compete with the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series.
With 31 Late Models on site, Mills charged forward in his heat race to secure the victory which earned him a second-row starting position in the $5,000-to-win feature. Maneuvering through a rough and tumble racing surface, Trey grabbed a Top-5 finish in fifth.
