Mills breaks through for first Super Late Model victory with Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series

Trey Mills continued his Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series (HTFSDS) title hunt on Friday afternoon and entered his Mills Concrete No. 14JR into competition at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Miss.) for the House Divided 40 doubleheader weekend.

For the $5,000-to-win opener, Mills clicked off the second-fastest lap in his qualifying group before holding on for a win in his heat race. Rolling off from the third-position in the 40-lap main event, Trey rolled the bottom lane to perfection and dueled with Payton Freeman before running away with the lead for good on lap 34.

Mills paced the field in the final six laps to score the $5,000 payday. He was followed across the line by Payton Freeman, Wil Herrington, Josh Putnam, and Neil Baggett.

With the field elevated to 36 Late Models on Saturday, Trey grabbed the final transfer spot in his heat race which placed him on the seventh row of the second 40-lap feature of the week. Chasing a $10,000 weekend sweep, Mills charged through the field and picked off several competitors to score a Top-10 finish in seventh.
