Trey Mills Enters Super Bowl of Racing at Golden Isles

Trey Mills was back in action on Thursday afternoon at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) kicked off their 2022 season with the Super Bowl of Racing. In a stout field of 47 cars, Trey dropped one spot in his heat to finish seventh, sending him into the B-Main. Slated to start near the tail of his consolation event, Mills was a scratch from the 10-lap consolation event.

The following night, Mills’ eighth-place finish in his heat transferred him into the B-Main for another shot at the $12,000-to-win A-Main. Locking in the Top 2, Trey gained four spots but fell short of a transfer position.

To wrap up the LOLMDS opening weekend on Saturday, Trey came in sixth in his heat, giving him one final shot at the finale with a B-Main appearance. Needing to place second or better, Mills logged a ninth-place outing.
